During the 2023-24 school year, we are launching a wellness partnership between Lexington Public Schools, the Foundation for Family and Community Healing, and Daily Haloha.

The program includes online self-paced experiences to build healthy habits for students, staff, and parents and a collective ritual using the social wellness app Daily Haloha. In just 2 minutes a day, the Daily Haloha experience involves shared question prompts for self-reflection and is a practice of gratitude, compassion, and empathy and excites a sense of togetherness to look forward to each day. How to get involved

In-person/Zoom facilitated community conversations:

  • Quarter 1 Staff — October 18th
  • Quarter 2 High Schoolers — December 13th
  • Quarter 3 Parent and Caregivers — March 6th

About the Course

In October 2022, US Surgeon General  Vivek Murthy (a paragon of love and courage) published a mental health and well-being framework. The Community Wellness *by Design Course was created with this framework in mind, specifically — the essentials for learning and growth and connection and community.  The Course lessons invite the Lexington Public School Community to share experiences and engage in conversation around behavioral science work, recognizing the interconnectedness of physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being. Nurturing wellness enhances resilience, fosters positive relationships, and enables individuals to pursue life worth living. This collective experience positions wellness as a fundamental and proactive pursuit for redefining our relationships with ourselves and others, considering the finitude of time and resources and orienting us to optimal health and fulfilling paths and goals.
